Surface water sampling is the act of extracting a representative sample from a body of water. This can be done using a variety of methods, most commonly through a Peristaltic Pump or an extendable pole sampler.

Peristaltic Pumps
This involves using a Peristaltic Pump from a bank or above the water source. Tubing is lowered to the desired level and pumped slowly in order not to disturb water.
Swing Samplers
Swing samples or pole samplers are methods of quickly and efficiently sampling hard to reach surface water.
